The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are here, along with a new version of Android. Oreo, or Android 8.0 brings a slew of new changes to your notifications, settings menu and a lot of under-the-hood improvements. Here are some tips and tricks to get you started.

In this video we show you how to:
– Activate the automatic Now Playing music detection
– Have a small, floating navigation window
– Manage app notification dots
– Activate HDR+ manually
– Swipe your fingerprint sensor to get…

  1. I accidentely opened google pay from a way it just slided down from top screen like a menu and said "ready to scan" . Any idea how I did that without opening the app?

  2. I'm going nuts! My Google Pixel 2 screen turned black and white and I can't for life of me turn it back to colour. Can you PLEASE help? You seem to be the most knowledgeable with this phone. GRRR.

  3. Can someone help me figure out how to receive mms messages I switched from an iPhone and turned off iMessage on the iPhone all ready and tried a million other things as well but still can't receive mms messages 😭😭😭

  4. I'm hoping someone who's really savvy with Android Oreo can help me with this situation. I recently transitioned from my iPhone 6 to a Google Pixel 2 (64 GB). I absolutely love the phone, the camera, google assistant, and smooth Android OS made me appreciate the phone choice. There is one thing, the settings with sound/display/notification makes it a bit confusing, and this is just a small troubleshooting I have, which I hope can be solved. On my iPhone I was able to get my text messages to wake the device up and show who the sender (contact) was without showing the context of the message, but remained locked. Also this could notify me on silent, vibrate, sound, or sound/vibrate…all with a visual. Also when unlocked (using the phone actively), when I did receive a text message, it would pop up on the top of the screen of who the sender is, but still have the content of the message hidden, simply showing "1 message" or "1 new message". Is there a way to do these things on the Google Pixel 2? I prefer having the "ambient on display" (showing clock and the icons that have notices) turned off for saving battery. If someone has an answer, please let me know, getting new to Android.

  5. Can anyone tell me what is the embedded light over the micro on pixel 2 made for? (Not the notification one !)

  6. How does one activate the hidden menu thing? It's not on by default on my phone and I can't find anything else about it.

  7. i'm looking at your keyboard, how come your keyboard looks a bit different than the default one I have on my pixel 2. are you using the gboard also? mind doesnt have the border around the letters… please help me 🙂

  8. So the Dark Mode doesn't work if i'm using a custom backscreen like a photo from my car?

  9. I just placed an order for a black and white Pixel 2 XL to replace my iPhone 6s. I’ve been on iOS since the 3GS and I’ve been wanting to give android a try for some time. I’m really excited to see how it goes.

  10. Nice video. I also can't help thinking your voice reminds me of Matt Berry (the guy from IT Crowd)…in a good way.
